Principal's Message

Dear Terry Fox Families and Community Members

Terry Fox Elementary is a K-Gr 5 school, built in 1982. We are located in Central Abbotsford, Babich Park neighborhood and are pleased to be known as a community oriented school. We are very proud to be named after one of the most celebrated Canadians of all time - Terry Fox. We have approximately 300 students, a diverse student body, and a small but active PAC. We pride ourselves on taking a holistic individualized approach to educating each child, focusing on mind, body and social-emotional wellness. We are known for having an exceptionally caring staff who work collaboratively to provide exceptional learning experiences for children. We offer a number of wrap around supports and programs to engage and support learners. Support personnel include a full time Youth Care Worker, an Indigenous Support Worker, a Counselor, 2 ELL teachers and 2 Learning Support teachers in addition to classroom teachers and Educational Assistants. We also provide a daily breakfast and lunch program and a weekly supplemental groceries program for families in need.

To our students, we are honored to watch you grow and succeed in all the numerous ways you will over your time at Fox. You are the heart of all we do. Our goal is to give you high quality learning experiences to help you become the best version of yourself that you can be. But we need your help. Being the best version of yourself requires you to come to school with a positive attitude and a hard-working approach to learning. You need to know that with effort you will always improve and without effort there is no meaningful success. We also need you to follow the school rules so that everyone will be safe. Be proud of your school and contribute to making it better.

Parents, thank you for entrusting the most precious people in your life to our care. We will all endeavor to educate, inspire and challenge your child!

- Mrs. Angela Magon, Principal
