Student Registration

Terry Fox Elementary, SD 34   REGISTRATION INFORMATION FOR ALL STUDENTS

You can pick up a registration package from any Abbotsford School District school or download the forms from the links below.

Please Note: To be registered for Kindergarten in September 2022, children must turn 5 years of age between January 1 and December 31, 2022.

The documents needed to register your child are included as pdf documents at the bottom of this page. You can fill out the forms online and send them to our email: terryfox@abbyschools.ca or pick up a paper copy from us during office hours and drop off in person. Our secretary will also prompt you for copies of the following documents, which we need to verify from you in person:

REGISTRATION DOCUMENTS:

Proof of age of the child by birth certificate is required (schools will photo copy.) To ensure the child being registered qualifies for Ministry of Education funding, the biological parents/legal guardians’ citizenship status and residency need to be established. Schools may register the child providing the following are established:

1. At least one biological parent/legal guardian is a Canadian Citizen by birth or naturalized (obtained citizenship) and they can support this with the following pieces of identification:

Parent’s Canadian Citizenship Card / PR card (front and back)
Parent’s Canadian Birth Certificate
Parent’s Canadian Passport.

2. The biological parent/legal guardian can provide proof of Canadian residency, and must provide 2 proofs of address such as:

Utility bill
Mortgage document
Property Sale Agreement
Property Tax Notice/Assessment
Rental or Lease Agreement
Bank statement
Credit card statement
Government document (eg. MSP bill)

3. If your child has a medical services card (CARE card), please bring it. 

4. Your child's Birth Certificate or passport

5. If parents/guardians have been citizens or residents of Canada for under 3 years, you are required to first report to the School District Office prior to registering your child at the school. Please email newtocanadaregistration@abbyschools.ca to make an appointment. They will confirm which documents you must provide.
